Project NO 1(one) Behind is about to increase the participation of children and youth with disabilities in sport and to leave no one behind parallel to promote an active and ecological lifestyle for having active citizenship, strengthening the integrity and values in sports, supporting a sustainable sports policy, as well as ensuring sectoral collaboration to raise awareness of the contribution that sport can make.
Sport can contribute for more inclusive societies and leave no one behind, but it is necessary to be guided by the principle of accessible programs for all, regardless of the barriers we face in our daily lives. Through sport children can learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication, which can be applied in all areas of their lives. By including children with disabilities in sport, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society, where everyone can reach their full potential.
Children should grow up in healthy environments where their health will be maintained and not impaired. The foundation for healthy growth is laid in early childhood and behaviors acquired in the early years shape our lives as adults and influence lifelong health.
The goal is to create lasting positive impact on the communities and countries where the project will take place, with demonstrating collective solidarity, empathy and support for the people who live there. The project will contributed to the development of a socially inclusive world, with a fair distribution of resources and rights.

Portugal
Pais21 - Down Portugal is an association of people with trisomy 21, families and civil society that has been promoting information and sharing news about trisomy 21 since 2008. Our association aims to change the way society sees people with trisomy 21, providing individual support to parents, up-to-date information on their real abilities and support for new families.
Our biggest challenge is the autonomy of people with intellectual difficulties. We believe that for true inclusion, people with trisomy 21 must have the conditions for learning at all stages of life.
